I have had the pleasure of providing a monthly chart for the Economic Spotlight section of Crain’s New York Business magazine since September 2003. Here is the latest, which appears in the current issue of Crain’s New York Business.

First, thank you for all your fine data and analysis. I contually rely on your insights and data when looking at the market.

One data point that seems particularly relevent when analyzing appreciation/depreciation (and that i can never find) is median price per square foot, disaggregated by size e.g., 1, 2, 3 bedroom, etc.

I always see averages quoted in the press which we both know are somewhat irrelevant without understanding the distribution and proper segmentation.

The closest I’ve been able to come is propertyshark.com. They have a “comperables” function (paid subscription) that can pull targeted sales information.

Any ideas where to find such info?

Thanks again for all your insights.
