Ok, I figured that if the story is good enough for CNN, its good enough for me. In the article [Vengeful mouse sets house ablaze [CNN]](http://www.cnn.com/2006/US/01/08/mouse.fire.ap/index.html) it seems like the mouse was inaccurately portrayed as the bad guy. However, at Matrix, we just report the “news,” you decide.

“I had some leaves burning outside, so I threw it in the fire, and the mouse was on fire and ran back at the house,” Mares said from a motel room Saturday.”

“No one was hurt inside, but the home and everything in it was destroyed.”

“I’ve seen numerous house fires,” village Fire Department Capt. Jim Lyssy said, “but nothing as unique as this one.”

I am sure there are many who will be angry by my opinion but here goes. Glad no one was hurt but he got what he deserved for his cruelty and stupidity. There is something called a humane trap for unwanted critters. I have used them for mice, cats ( to find homes for ) and even a small rat once (that was tough but my boyfried handled it )- you trap them (no pain,) drive them to a nice park, ect., let them out and both creatures are happy.

While the cruelty of it all is not lost on me (I’m referring to the poor mouse, not the homeless homeowner), you reap what you sow. Score one for the little guys!

Seems like the homeowner, not the mouse, was the vengeful one here.
